About
We are a small County Funded office who’s sole purpose is to help Veteran’s and their families. The Military Assistance Act helps to support our local Veterans who have fallen on hard times financially. With over 20 years of experience as Veterans Service Officers accredited by the VA our Office can help Veterans navigate all aspects of the VA. We Strive to help Veterans fight for benefits that have already been earned. We charge nothing in return.
We are fortunate enough to have a caring community of Veteran supporters that donate to Veterans' Assistance Commission of Macon County, Inc. that give our struggling veterans some light on a cloudy day. We love the fact all donations go back to Veterans and our Community’s Veterans Causes. We take great pride in the fact that donated funds go to pay no-one’s salary.
We are a levied part of Macon County, IL Government. Under the Military Assistance Act we are funded by Macon County to provide assistance to Veterans and their dependents.
We are accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs to represent Veterans on compensation and pension claims with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The Commission itself is formed by one Delegate and one Alternate from each Veteran Post in our county.
We have a total of 10 posts that make up our commission:
